The Face behind the Book

Given how powerful Facebook has become it's strange that every interview I read with Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of the world's biggest social networking site, seems rather bland.

Maybe it's the increasing presence of PR minders, sent to preserve the corporate brand image, or perhaps the guy is genuinely introverted in a techno-geek way, but he manages to give little away about his passion or vision, either when reflecting about the past or looking forward to the future.

Nonetheless, if it's titbits you're after then here's the latest offering, which has appeared in the Guardian.

i cant believe Zuckerberg is only 24! wow
They don't really present him well, its almost as if they are trying to say that they are shocked that he is so "geeky" and "ginger". Did they expect him to be some good looking, rugby player?

But i agree he doesnt sound like a very 'exciting' guy, seems to me as if he was a bit lonely at uni and felt the need to know everything about everyone. Almost a bit stalkerish.Yet again i guess that is the reason everyone loves facebook-because you can be so nosy!

I think the issue you have raised here is really interesting. As an regular facebook user myself, i personally would have thought that such a rivetting and entertaining site would have been inpsired by a vivid and colourful character, unlike Zuckerberg.
